This is why the Rapture was delayed.
@ Randy Savage: Well, I hate to say it, but if you didn't have that heart attack and veer across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... then collide head-on with that tree and die the day before the Rapture, all of humanity would have been destroyed. You're a hero, Mr. Savage. You're my hero!
You're welcome, my son.
These people never explain what you're supposed to do if you don't like heaven.
@ GB: I know. You would think that they would be capable of thinking of more than one point of view in relation to their own, but that seems to be too much to ask. It seems that "freedom" is still just a concept, not a reality.
. . . such is dogmatic thinking (the 'empty vessel' approach to thought.) One's mind becomes an empty vessel to be filled by the authority figures with which the person most identifies, or the figures who most represent authority for the individual. Those thoughts then become what is "right," and everything else is "wrong." There is no need or desire on their part to explain in detail because it is too abstract a concept to explain. Even pluralistic or dialectical thinking has it's shortcomings, but I'd much rather be the latter than than the former. Logic does have it's failings. Sometimes you have to follow your instincts. At least I am trying to understand as opposed to judging...although others may disagree with that. Ultimately, there are no absolutes. But we can, however, learn more about ourselves and the world we live in through others. Peace out.
